Welcome to our webpage. We will try to keep everything here updated as well as our facebook page. So just a short post to get it all started...
As you have probably figured out by now this years theme is the Twisted Wizard of OZ! As the trail continues to grow so do the costs to run it both financially and in man power. So many thanks to all our amazing volunteers and sponsors who have joined us over the years to help and support what we think is a great opportunity that many kids might not otherwise be able to enjoy. The Haunted trail was conceived in 2011 after hurricane Irene as a way to give something to the local children who had been hit so hard due to storm destruction and damage. That year we had 12 volunteers and 40 guests. Then next year we had 25 volunteers and about 150 guests we also became a partnership of three, the State Park workers, the Quechee Gorge Giftshop, and The Visitor Center, we did accept donations as the trail was costing more that $1000 to put together. In 2013 we were joined by the Chamber of Commerce, the Quechee Gorge Village Stores and the Hartford Parks and Recreation Dept. The Partnership was now complete. We had about 40 volunteers and about 360 visitors that year. Last year we gained our sponsors and that was a tremendous help as the costs were becoming more than we could take financially and we did not wish to charge for the fun. We had also gained more visitors ( at about 650) and our volunteers numbered over 50. Happy Hauntings!
