Quechee Haunted Trail
Quechee Haunted trail began putting the Haunt back in Haunted in 2011! As the years have progressed more and more folks have become involved. While most of the activities are free we do ask for donations to try to keep it this way. There are something's such as food vendors($) that are not free. We have been lucky enough to get contributions from local business to help us keep this event as free as possible for the children, and generous donations from our walkers. This is a one night only event with a specific amount of space for people to walk. Once the numbers are full there is no more room.
We run the trail itself from 5pm to 9:30 pm. Other activities begin earlier at 3pm at the Quechee Gorge Village. We will be taking phone calls starting October 1 to reserve a walk time. Groups will be 6 to 10 people in size. and you should arrive 15 minutes prior to your walk time to get signed in and meet the Wizard! The trail is wheel chair accessible (the push kind, not the scooter kind) but you must let us know in advance as this will require special parking for access. A minimal amount of help will be needed to navigate the trail. Please keep in mind that as the nigh become darker it naturally becomes scarier and by 7 or 8pm it may be more that the tiny ones wish to deal with. Walks will be assigned as they are called in.
Timeline of Events:
Start at the Quechee Gorge Village shops at 3 pm and ride the Haunted Train, visit the business' to trick or treat, listen to Sindy Skinless and the Decomposers, as this lively skeleton band entertain and delights all ages, then join the children's games under the big tent and win prizes. Then Walk the sidewalk and see who else might be welcoming trick or treater's; and stop in at All Around Towne photography ($) if you want pictures before joining the festivities at the Visitor Center as you prepare for your walk. Visit with Vins and learn about owls and the many programs they provide. Meet the Wizard and let him entertain you with the story of what is going on, visit with local business' and many Halloween characters. Then enter the Forest and meet your guides as we provide you with a hauntingly good time and finish your walk with an Egg Haunt brought to you by the Hartford Parks and Recreation Dept. Thank you in advance for any donations you might be able to leave!
